The General Assembly,

Mindful of the determination proclaimed by the peoples of the world in the Charter of the United Nations to re-affirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,
鑒於 全人類堅定意志，宣示聯合國憲章。即，重申信念於 : 基本人權、人的尊嚴與價值，不分男女、國之大小的平等權利，及，以較大自由，促進社會進步與較佳生活標準。
Conscious of the need for the creation of condions of stability and well-being and peaceful and friendly relations based on respect for the principles of equal rights and self- determination of all peoples, and of universal respect for, and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion,曉知 創造安定、福祉及和平、友好關係之所需，乃基於尊重所有人民的平等權利與自決等原則，及普世尊重與遵行人權和基本自由，而不區分種族、性別、語言或宗教。
