赫西奧德Hesiod聲稱宙斯賜與人類公義(即themis正義之謂)， 使人異於禽獸。(見默西亞˙埃里亞德前揭書，卷一，頁283 )
何止如此 !人的尊貴和財富，得天獨厚。
基督教舊約聖經創世紀記載 :
上帝說，我們要照我們的形像，按著我們的樣式造人，使他們管理海裡的魚，空中的鳥，地上的牲畜，和全地，並地上所爬的一切昆蟲。
